The video for r.O.b’s (Realist One Breathin') track entitled “Impaired
Vision” from his upcoming project “CircaXXV” has just been released. Impaired vision is the inability to tell
light from dark, or the total inability to see.
The entire video takes place in a rugged, dark and empty basement which
metaphorically exemplifies the feeling of doubt or failure when a person is
trying to find their path in life. Striving
towards a dream is full of ups and many downs which have the power to weigh
heavy on your conscious and impair the vision you had previously set for your success. When you reach that dark space in the
basement and feel like you’re alone you have to remember what inspired you to take
the path you chose, the progress you have made while reaching for what you envisioned
and how much you stayed true to yourself. r.O.b is
alone in this basement with his vision of a dream differed. However, the stark contrast between his
lyrics and the visual aspect of the video display the hope and faith that you
have in yourself while trying to make it through the darkness. In the track r.O.b states “I'm tryna be made
before I reach heaven” which means although his vision is temporarily impaired
he is never going to give up on the future he envisions for himself. “Impaired Vision” is a relatable track in all
aspects of life. As human beings we go through times when we have doubts and
want to give up but we have to keep our vision alive even in our darkest times.
