Phony Ppl: The Return of Live Instruments

As I listen to a lot of the hip hop music today only a few of songs seem to have organic and authentic production. Majority of the beats that are being produced are electronically based straight off of the computer. What happened to the use of live instruments that was once so prominent in music? Live instruments give music more definition, authenticity and most importantly give listeners something fresh to vibe to. Phony Ppl completes the void of not being able to hear live instruments in the Hip-Hop industry.
Phony Ppl is an underground hip-hop group of nine males from Brooklyn New York consisting of signers, rappers, musicians and producers. They have been in the music scene since 2009 releasing mixtapes such as "WTF is Phonyland?", "Phonyland" and their most recent release "NothinG Special". This group came into the scene with a different vibe from the norm. Although they are a hip-hop group their music is rich with other genres and styles of music. Throughout their tracks you will hear hints of jazz with a little bit of a 90's flow and even some modern originality. Phony Ppl has just the right mixture of modern production incorporated with the classic organic vibe of live instruments. If you haven't heard their music before check out their song "Told You So" from their latest mixtape released July 2012 below. 1. I love the live instruments being used in this song, the vibe is great. The lyrics are just right and real talk situations that some plp go through now a days!!! Very relatable....
